The Labour Party have promised that, should they form the next British government, they will guarantee that all secondary school pupils will receive face-to-face, individual careers advice and guidance. They claim that current careers advice in schools is all too often simply directing pupils to online resources and that face-to-face meetings with careers advisors are essential for supporting young people into a career.
The Labour Party’s education manifesto also includes plans to reverse the Coalition’s decision to scrap compulsory work experience for pupils aged 14 – 16 as well as a promise to focus on both vocational and academic routes into careers.
